The United Nations Women (UN Women) Chairs:

Zubaida Alani

Zubaida Alani, a senior at AMB, found her voice through Model United Nations (MUN), which helped her speak up, share her ideas, and gain confidence in debating important issues. She also values the connections she makes meeting new people, exchanging ideas, and collaborating with others make every conference an amazing experience.

Talia Shamdeen

Talia Shamdeen, a senior at Al Mawakeb Garhoud, has been passionately involved in Model United Nations (MUN) since the 6th grade. Over the years, MUN has played a pivotal role in shaping her confidence, leadership abilities, and understanding of global issues. She views MUN as far more than just a debate club; it is a platform for personal growth, fostering diplomacy, and broadening perspectives on the world around us. Her dedication to MUN is rooted in its transformative impact, and she strives to inspire others to see its potential. Beyond MUN, Talia is a determined student with aspirations to study medicine abroad, hoping to make a meaningful difference in the medical field. She hopes delegates will develop a lasting love for MUN, just as she has. She is also confident that her committee in this year's AMSIMUN will create a memorable, impactful experience for all involved. Finally, as a chair of the eighth edition of the AMSIMUN conference, Talia is eager to see delegates in her committee evolve and grow through debate and collaboration!
